From April 22 to 26, 2019, with the launch of the annual education series “Finnish Education in China”, Dr. Dong Li, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Finland-China Education Association (FICEA), led the Finnish experts to Chongqing Xiejiawan Primary School and provided the seventh Finnish education teacher training program. A total of more than 2,000 educators, including those from Finland, the member schools of Liu Xiya’s Principal Studio, Xiejiawan Primary School, and national educators gathered to participate in the five-day training and discuss the topic of “Developing Quality Education and Changing Learning Methods”.
During the training, Dr. Dong Li provided comprehensive and detailed professional comments and teaching guidance on 17 demonstration lessons presented by the Chinese teachers and had a lively discussion with the principals and teachers on teaching strategy improvement, multidisciplinary learning, and instructional form optimization. Finnish experts from FICEA demonstrated the innovative ideas of Finnish education through showing the exquisite Finnish lessons. In addition, the theme lectures, academic salons, and other activities also provided an international platform for the principal teachers and education colleagues participating in the training to have a deeper understanding of the Sino-Finnish basic education reform and the concept of innovative education. At the same time, the activity promotes professional cooperation in education between China and Finland.
