In November 2018, the education delegation of China’s Xiong’an New Area visited the Finnish headquarters of the Finland-China Education Association, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement in January 2019

Guided by Fu Shouqing, member of the Xiong’an New Area Working Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee; and established by Song Tao, Deputy Director of the Xiong’an New Area Public Service Bureau and Li Liwei, professional from the Xiong’an New Area Reform and Development Bureau, the Xiong’an New Area Education Delegation was held on November 26-27, 2018. The delegation members visited the Tampere Headquarters of Finland-China Education Association (FICEA). Mr. Jari Andersson, Chairman of FICEA; Dr. Dong Li, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of FICEA; and Mr. Pekka Pellinen, Vice Chairman of FICEA, attended the later entourage on behalf of the association. Through visits to local schools, off-campus experiences, and seminars on Finnish urban construction, the Xiong’an New Area Education Delegation Group gained a comprehensive understanding of the Finnish education system.

The association invited Mrs. Johanna Loukaskorpi, the Deputy Mayor in charge of social welfare services, in the City of Tampere, to participate in a symposium with the Xiong’an New Area Education Delegation to discuss the development of the local and national urban construction systems in China and Finland. To better understand the overall development of various industries in Finland and seek more possibilities for cooperation in various fields between the two countries, FICEA invited representatives of outstanding companies from various industries in Finland to visit the headquarters and have a discussion with the education committee of Xiong’an New Area after the meeting, the participants took a group photo, and the Xiong’an New Area Education Delegation had an in-depth discussion with the leaders of FICEA regarding the intention of comprehensive cooperation between China and Finland in the future. The two parties formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement in January 2019, which means that in the future, based on the direction of construction in the Xiong’an New Area, the two parties will have more comprehensive and practical cooperation in various fields such as education and culture.
